The Google Business Profile is genuinely this business's strongest asset: claimed, active, and sitting at 5.0 stars across 37 reviews per a live listing check. The problem is everything wrapped around it. This audit found three different business addresses across the site and its citation footprint — including one that is still hard-coded into a live, indexed Google Maps embed — plus a ~50-page city program that reads as programmatic doorway pages rather than genuine local content, two pages targeting a market 150 miles outside the service area, and a real, measured competitive gap against the businesses that currently outrank it.

Critical Findings

LOC-01Three different business addresses in the wildCORRECTED Oct 4, 2026 — this premise was wrong
SourceAddress Shown (as understood Sept 25)
GBP (ground truth, Location 1)16135 Barklea Rd, Cypress, TX 77429
Homepage & contact page footerSame — consistent
Google Maps <iframe> embed on /tree-service-provider-missouri-city-tx/ and its -2 duplicate"Green Industry Tree Service, 3400 Bissonnet St, Houston, TX 77005" — a stale, defunct address Confirmed real, active Location 2
2020-era Legitt citation campaign (44 directories submitted)"1415 S Voss Rd Suite 110, Houston, TX 77057" — a third address Confirmed real, active Location 3 (client confirmed "Voss Rd is the same" as Bissonnet St — also active; exact current suite/street number still being confirmed)

The live site's visible text/footer does not show the Bissonnet St address anywhere — but that exact stale address is hard-coded into a live Google Maps embed on two indexed, HTTP-200 URLs. The iframe's Google Place reference (0x8640c122dcaf1a2b:0x8ae2350a0716b4cb) resolves to a different Google Maps place entity than the current, verified GBP listing — directly contradicting the correct footer address on the very same page.

Separately, the client's own 2020-era citation campaign (Brownbook, Chamber of Commerce, Foursquare, eLocal, EnrollBusiness, MapQuest, eBusinessPages, LaCartes, AskMap, A-Z Business Finder, Bark, and 30+ more — several rows marked "Pending"/never completed) used a third address entirely: 1415 S Voss Rd Suite 110, Houston, TX 77057. None of these 44 citations use the current Cypress address. If any of the "Live" rows are still indexed, they are actively reinforcing a wrong NAP signal across the exact citation graph local-pack ranking depends on — and this is very likely connected to the GBP suspension/reinstatement history already documented in this client's own files.

Status (Oct 4, 2026): this entire finding was built on an incorrect single-location assumption. The client confirmed directly this is a genuine multi-location business: Bissonnet St is verified real via a client-supplied document ("OWNER VERIFIED" on ChamberOfCommerce.com, 10 reviews, hours matching the real GBP, also listed on Manta/Bark/MerchantCircle/hub.biz), and Voss Rd is separately confirmed active too. The Maps embed is correct as-is and needs no change — verified live. The Legitt citation campaign is not necessarily wrong either; it may well be accurate for Location 3, so the original "re-claim every row to one address" fix below no longer applies as written. A real citation audit is still needed, but to properly sort genuinely-wrong entries from correct multi-location ones — that re-scoped pass hasn't started yet, and is waiting on the client's confirmed exact Voss Rd street number.

Original fix (superseded): correct or remove the Missouri City map embed immediately; audit and re-claim every "Live" row in the citation spreadsheet to 16135 Barklea Rd, Cypress, TX 77429.

LOC-02Two city pages target a market ~150 miles outside the service areaFIXED — removed Oct 4, 2026

/tree-service-provider-sulphur-la/ and /tree-service-provider-lake-charles-la/ target Sulphur, LA and Lake Charles, LA — both ~145–150 miles / 2.5+ hours from the Cypress base, with no LA address, no LA GBP, and no LA phone number (the same Cypress number and footer address appear on both pages). Sulphur vs. Lake Charles are themselves 99.6% identical to each other, using a longer "storm damage / insurance claim" template specifically written to intercept hurricane search demand in a market the business doesn't physically serve.

Given this business's documented GBP suspension history, doorway pages this far outside a credible service radius are a genuine risk factor, not a content nitpick — proximity is a major component of local-pack ranking, and a 150-mile mismatch is a strong negative signal.

Status (Oct 4, 2026): both pages removed entirely at the client's request (moved to WordPress trash, recoverable for 30 days, not permanently deleted) — verified live, both URLs now redirect rather than serving content. A third out-of-territory page was also found this pass: /tree-service-provider-georgetown-texas/ — Georgetown, TX is a real city, but it's near Austin, roughly 170 miles from Cypress, not a Houston-area market. Missed in the original audit; noindexed rather than removed, pending the client's preference on that one.

The City-Page Program as a Local SEO Strategy

Sitemap lists ~54 /tree-service-provider-<city>-tx/ URLs, ranging from immediate-area cities (Klein, Tomball, Jersey Village) to Houston neighborhoods that aren't distinct municipalities (Midtown, Uptown, Museum District) to the two Louisiana pages above (now removed) and a third out-of-territory page, Georgetown TX, found Oct 4 2026 (now noindexed). Katy vs. The Woodlands scored 97.4% identical body text at the original audit — the standard swap-the-city-name doorway pattern, confirmed programmatically (see Content Quality for the full diff, and its Oct 4 update: Klein vs. Katy re-measured at 59.5% after three rounds of real content differentiation — a new paragraph, varied "Why Choose Us" phrasing, and varied service-category blurb cards, all on 43 pages). Each page still lacks deeper city-specific proof points: local landmarks, localized project photos, city-specific testimonials — a further step if the client wants to go beyond the real, fact-based differentiation now in place.

Six confirmed duplicate pairs compound the problem
The Woodlands, Sugar Land, Shenandoah, Missouri City, Mission Bend, and Pecan Grove each have a live -2 duplicate URL, both indexable, 97.9–98.8% identical (see Technical SEO for the fix).

Reviews & Reputation

LOC-03On-site reviews are stuck at July 2022; the real 5.0/37 rating is invisible in schemaHigh

The on-site reviews widget ("WP Google Places Review Slider") shows its most recent review from July 2022 — over 3 years stale against the live GBP's 37 reviews as of August 2026. No aggregateRating schema exists anywhere on the site (homepage, contact page, or reviews page), despite the real rating being strong and rich-result-ready. A "five-stars" trust badge graphic on the reviews page is also hotlinked from an unrelated third-party domain rather than hosted on the business's own media library.

Fix: sync or replace the reviews widget to reflect current GBP data, and add the AggregateRating schema from the Schema page.

Competitive Ranking Reality (SERP check, Sept 25, 2026)

Backwards SERP analysis on three target queries found the site ranks last (or not at all) against independent competitor pages that carry real LocalBusiness-family schema, 1,000–2,200+ word pages, and visible review/rating proof — exactly what this site is missing.

QueryWhere greenindustrytrees.com ranksWhat's winning instead
"tree service cypress tx"Last of 9 visible results (homepage only)6 of 9 results are independent Local/Service pages with LocalBusiness schema
"tree removal houston tx"Does not appear at allChampions Tree (1,272 words, FAQ schema), Houston Tree Surgeons (2,228 words, 113-image gallery)
"certified arborist katy tx"Last of 9 visible resultsCompetitors show AggregateRating schema, named owner-arborist bios, and explicit credential framing

No page on the site targets the broad "Houston tree removal" head term directly — only hyper-local sub-market pages (e.g. "southwest-houston"). Full competitive gap analysis, user stories, and persona scoring available on request from this audit's underlying research.

Local Schema Gaps

  • No streetAddress in the LocalBusiness schema — FIXED, verified live: streetAddress: "16135 Barklea Rd" present in schema.
  • openingHours is wrong (9am-5pm vs. real 6am-9pm) — FIXED, verified live: 6:00 AM–9:00 PM daily. See Schema.
  • No geo coordinates anywhere — no UI field exists in this Rank Math install — FIXED Oct 4, 2026. Discovered Rank Math already has full backend support for this (reads from a titles.geo setting with no UI field exposed in this version) — just needed the option set directly, no custom snippet required. Used the real, GBP-verified coordinates (29.9870455, -95.6741593). areaServed — FIXED, added to Service schema on 56 pages. aggregateRating — FIXED, added to the reviews page with the real 5.0/37 GBP figures.
  • Generic LocalBusiness type instead of the more specific HomeAndConstructionBusiness — FIXED, verified live sitewide.

Recommended Local SEO Sequence

  • Fix the Missouri City map embed and re-claim the 44 wrong-address citations first — this is very likely tied to the account's suspension history and should not wait
  • Resolve or remove the Sulphur/Lake Charles LA pages — DONE: both removed Oct 4, 2026
  • 301 the 6 duplicate city-page pairs into their base URLs
  • Publish the corrected LocalBusiness schema (streetAddress, geo, hours, areaServed, aggregateRating)
  • Refresh the on-site reviews display to reflect the real 5.0/37 rating
  • Rewrite the highest-traffic city pages with genuine local substance before adding any more location pages
